Wallpapering My Garage Fridge? YES!
You heard that right - I wallpapered my garage fridge!
You know that sad, rusty old fridge that’s been sitting in the corner of your garage, holding a random collection of paint cans, water bottles, and who-knows-what? Well, mine was long overdue for a little TLC. Instead of hauling it to the curb, I decided to give it a patterned facelift, and it turned out so good.
Step 1: Taming the Rust Monster
This fridge had seen better days. First up, I sanded down all the rust and gave it a fresh coat of white Rustoleum primer. It instantly looked cleaner, like a blank canvas waiting for something fun. I even removed the handles to paint around them properly (a little patience here makes a big difference).
Step 2: The Fun Part — Wallpaper!
Once everything was dry, it was time for the transformation.
I grabbed my Tropical Leopard in black Peel & Stick wallpaper - yes, the same print that’s perfect for accent walls - and started covering the fridge panels.
Pro tip: use spray adhesive around the tricky handle area to get that perfect, tight seal. It gives a professional finish and prevents peeling over time.
Step 3: Adding Joy to the Everyday
I know what you’re thinking: Wallpapering a garage fridge? But hear me out. Why not add pattern and joy, even in unexpected places?
Back in my Chicago days, I once wallpapered our garage walls, and it made coming home feel happy. That moment stuck with me. Wallpaper isn’t just decoration, it’s emotional. It sparks joy, even when you’re just grabbing sparkling water from the garage fridge.
Now, every time I walk in, I smile. It’s proof that design can elevate any space, even a garage.
Step 4: Design Dilemma - Should I Go All In?
Now here’s where I need your opinion…
Should I stop at the front, or go bold and wallpaper the sides too?
If I do, I’ll need two more rolls, and I’m so tempted! What do you think?
